I’ve had a few people asking me about my skincare routine lately so I thought I’d share it. Honestly, it’s nothing fancy. I don’t subscribe to the idea you need to spend a lot of money to look and feel great. I believe it’s about finding products that work for your skin type and your budget! After many years of not having one at all, I’ve finally got an easy routine I actually enjoy and genuinely feel makes a difference to my skin. Here’s my daily and weekly routine and the beauty products I actually, really truly use. These are the 12 beauty products I can’t travel without and absolutely love!
Daily face routine
Each morning I wash my face with Antipodes Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser. It’s a strange red/burnt orange colour and it smells incredible! It’s like squeezing fresh berries and antioxidants and other magical potions into your hand. This is the only cleanser I’ve ever used that I’ve actually noticed makes a positive difference to my skin!
Afterwards, I moisturise using the Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream and Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream. Both are super lightweight, easily absorbed and not oily or yucky. I love all three of these products, they’re my go-to face trio and make a visible difference to my skin, leaving it fresh, bright and happy.

Extra face care
I’ve had some dark pigment show up on my face in the last few years, so I started using an over-the-counter called SuperFade. I put that on as directed, 2 – 3 times a day on dark patches, and it helps me stay on top of them. I also use Hamilton’s Everyday Face SPF 50 Sunscreen every day too, it’s super lightweight, skin coloured and not at all oily.
A few times a week I like to use Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator. You can tell I love it because that tube has had the life squeezed out of it! It’s a really gentle cleanser that smells divinely like citrus and orange, it’s nice and gentle and leaves my skin smooth and soft.

Weekly body care
Every Sunday I like to get in the shower and spend a while in there giving myself a full detail. Legs shaved, hair washed and toned, body scrubbed, the works! It sets me up for a week of feelin’ good.
I’ve fallen totally in love with Thankyou’s Coffee Body Scrub. I got two jars over Christmas and now I’m obsessed with the stuff. It’s really chunky and grainy but packed with botanical geranium, rosewood, and cold-pressed macadamia oil. I scrub the crap out of my body and it feels amazing, removing all the dry skin and residual tan I may have on. It just leaves my skin feeling glowy, soft and amazing. It’s my favourite! For real.
I’ve also fallen back in love with the old fake tan. Don’t judge me! I had one too many people tell me I’m white as a ghost, so I’m doing something about it. Truth is, I hate fake tan, but I’ve found an organic one I really like. Sukin’s Sunless Bronzing Gel is amazing. Firstly, it doesn’t have the nasty fake-tan stank about it. Important, right?! It dries quick and you can put your clothes on right away. I use it each Sunday post-scrub and it lasts all week. Obsessed. Gives such a natural glow, too!

Daily body routine
Keep it simple! I use Coles Triple Moisture Body Wash each and every day. Â It’s super cheap, I think it’s $4 for 1 litre. Most importantly, it’s soap and paraben free, which is really important for healthy skin. A little goes a long way and it never leaves my skin feeling dry.
I also use Dermaveen Extra Gentle Soap Free Wash on my face in the evening, because I’m too lazy to get my Antipodes cleanser and carry it into the shower. This stuff is really gentle on my skin, removes makeup well and never leaves my face feeling dry or yucky.

Haircare
I use four things on my hair: shampoo, conditioner, toner and oil. I honestly believe the less you mess around with your hair and skin, the healthier they are going to be. I’m not fussy when it comes to shampoo and conditioner, I have so much hair I just buy whatever is on sale and can be purchased in bulk! At the moment I’m using Garnier Fructis sleek and shine because it was on sale at Coles last week and so far it’s good.
Every Sunday, during the aforementioned total body detail, I put Scott Cornwall Colour Restore Iced Platinum Anti-Yellow Toner through my hair, pop it up in a bun and leave it to soak through while I scrub/shave/wash etc. It feels like it keeps the yellow out of my hair in-between visits to the hairdresser and gives my hair a nice silvery shine to it.
The only other product I ever use on my hair is Schwarzkopf Extra Care Hair Repair Daily Oil Elixir. I am obsessed with this stuff and would happily volunteer to be their eternal spokesperson for it. The packet says to put 3 pumps max in your hair, I must put about 15-20 in mine. But I have the hair of 8 people on my head, so I figure I’m justified.
