A look at the week that was and a little insight into the #bloglife, sharing things I just can’t share anywhere else!
Highlights of the week
This week has been a fantastic one and, I gotta say, I’m feeling really energised and inspired by it all. I ended last week feeling a bit frustrated, so it’s really nice to end this one feeling the complete opposite way.
I spent Tuesday with the lovely Krista Eppelstun, filming a local’s guide to Brisbane for Tourism & Events Queensland. Basically, I got to have my dream day in Brisbane, sharing a few of my favourite food, coffee and shopping spots as well as some of my favourite activities. I’ve worked with Krista before so it was really easy working with her again and when we’re together, her, Matt and I have a great vibe going! We got so many gorgeous, creative shots and I’m really excited to see the finished video, which will be promoted on the TEQ YouTube channel and Facebook page.
The more film work I do the more I love it! Each time I feel more comfortable and confident and I think I’m getting a little addicted to it. Filming and editing the vlogs myself has been a great learning curve too because I now know what does and doesn’t work when it comes time to edit a video, which I think is making my work in front of the camera much stronger. Sorry, I’m rambling, all my thoughts are just spillin’ out my head! If you’re keen to see more, I shared some photos here: 12 Behind-the-scenes photos from my shoot with TEQ! 1
We filmed all day and into the evening on Tuesday then I came home and packed, ready to fly to Singapore on Wednesday. The flight, of course, was incredibly easy as Singapore Airlines put me up in Business Class on their A350! I never used to know the difference between planes based on those codes (A350 etc) but the more I work with airlines the more I’m gaining an appreciation for the differences between the aircraft (oh my gosh, I’m becoming a real adult/aviation geek!)
Singapore Airlines flew me out for the launch of their cabin products aboard their new A380s. To be totally honest, I had no clue what to expect. Turns out, the whole thing was far fancier than I could ever have expected. There was singing, bright lights, some sort of laser/light show, a smoke machine and a grand reveal. A huge screen lifted and set up behind it were models of the new seats and sections of the plane.
We got to take a look at and play with all the features of the amazing suites! Seriously, they are soooo luxurious it’s not even funny. They’re like a hotel room in the sky and it’s now on my life list of dreams to experience them one day. The new business class seats are insane, they’re so private and new-age and, best of all, you can push a divider down in-between the two and you find yourself with a double bed! Great for snuggling!
I’ll show you more of what went on at the event and all the funny things that happened in my Singapore vlog episode. I also have some fun blog posts in mind to take you behind-the-scenes of the whole thing! Stay tuned for these next week, especially if you’ve ever wanted to see what an airline suite really looks like.
