5 reasons to spend your next holiday in Morocco

If you’re someone who travels regularly, you may find yourself running out of interesting, new and exciting places to visit. If this is you, then you should definitely be adding Morocco to your travel bucket list. Morocco has so much more to offer than meets the eye and most people have no idea about the things that make it such an interesting and diverse country. There are many reasons why you should visit Morocco, but let’s start with these five.

So much diversity

Morocco is one of the most geographically diverse countries in the world. If you’re after beaches, mountains, deserts and seas, this is the country for you. Morocco has access to both the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. In just one short trip to Morocco, you can go to the desert and go skiing up in the Atlas Mountains. Morocco has so much to offer and you’ll never get bored! Spend a night camping in the Sahara Desert, get lost in a remote village, drive through winding mountains or explore the noisy, buzzing markets of Marrakech.

Incredible food

Good food is a reason to go anywhere! Whether you love seafood, meat or wine, Morocco’s got you covered. In some parts of the country you can find delicacies like Cow testicles – which might not be your cup of tea, but perhaps you’ll like the lamb ribs or their famous merguez sausages. To be honest, the food alone is probably reason enough to pack your bags and head to Morocco! Feast on incredible meat and vegetable Tagine, couscous, Pastilla and soups. Enjoy beautiful fresh and died fruits, like dates and olives, or visit one of the incredible bakeries and stock up on amazing breads to be eaten with fresh food from the market or souk.

A great nightlife

It may surprise you to find out that one of the major advantages of a holiday in Morocco is the fabulous nightlife on offer. In Marrakesh in particular there are numerous nightclubs and even casinos you can visit. The nightlife mixed with how hospitable Moroccans are, you’ll be making lifelong friends in no time!

Beautiful architecture

There are some of the most beautiful buildings the world has to offer in Morocco – if you love sightseeing, then you’ll love this country. There are amazing traditional homes with gorgeous tiles, mosaics and gardens – not to mention the palaces. The best bit is, you can see these amazing traditional homes right next door to amazing modern structures. There’s no need to go looking for beautiful buildings, you’ll see them if you walk through the surreal, winding streets of Marrakech or duck into one of the hotels and riads (traditional houses).

Shopping

If you’ve never heard of a souk, you don’t know what you’ve been missing. It’s a market that’s better than Disneyland – a place where you can find dancing cobras, beautiful clothes, homemade jewellery and everything else you can ever wish for. It’s not just the markets though, Morocco has the largest mall in Africa, one that has H&M and Zara, as well as Gucci and Louis Vuitton. You can’t lose. You’re going to want to have good luggage to fit all your shopping – so head to Luggage Direct to find a size that fits all your trinkets!

There you go – Morocco might not have been your first choice for a holiday or even been on your travel radar, but after reading this it should definitely be near the top of your list! Morocco has something for everyone, so pack your bags and head off to this beautiful country.
